"Cheap" email marketing is like fast food - looks good now, hurts later

Had an interesting conversation yesterday that I had to share with you...
A prospect told me: "Email marketing is easy. We can do it cheap."
My response? I asked if they grab fast food when they're in a hurry.
"Sure, sometimes," they said.
"And do you eat that way when you want to be healthy?"
"No, of course not."
Here's the thing about "cheap" email marketing that no one talks about...
Like that $1 burger, budget email marketing:
β Looks like the real thing
β Satisfies immediate needs
β Costs less upfront
β Is quick to implement
But here's the not-so-secret menu of problems it creates:
β Deliverability tanks faster than a stone
β Open rates that would make a spam folder blush
β Unsubscribes that look like a mass exodus
β Revenue that flatlines when it should spike
Just like fast food isn't real nutrition, cheap email isn't real marketing.
Let me put it this way:
The ROI on email marketing isn't about blasting messages into the void.
It's about crafting the RIGHT messages...
For the RIGHT people...
At the RIGHT time.
That's the difference between a $1 burger and a michelin-star meal.
