The Only 3 Copywriting Frameworks You Need for Higher-Converting Emails

Hey there,

Let's talk about something that's costing you sales right now: overcomplicated email copy.

I've reviewed hundreds of e-commerce email campaigns, and I keep seeing the same mistake: brands trying to reinvent the wheel with their copy.

Here's the truth: The most profitable email campaigns use simple, proven frameworks.

Today, I'm sharing the only 3 you actually need:

  1. PAS (Problem, Agitate, Solve)
This is your workhorse framework. Here's how it works:

Problem: "Tired of abandoned carts eating into your profits?"
Agitate: "Every day you lose potential customers who were THIS close to buying..."
Solution: "Our abandoned cart sequence recovers 35% of lost sales on autopilot"

  1. AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action)
Perfect for product launches and new collection announcements:

Attention: "Introducing the only moisturizer you'll need this winter"
Interest: "Formulated with rare Alpine botanicals..."
Desire: "Wake up to plump, hydrated skin every morning"
Action: "Get 20% off during our launch week"

  1. BAB (Before, After, Bridge)
Ideal for testimonial emails and case studies:

Before: "Sarah used to struggle with converting her email list"
After: "Now her emails generate 40% of her monthly revenue"
Bridge: "The difference? These three email sequences we're about to share..."

Real Example From One of Our Clients:

Using PAS format:

Subject: Your subscription box is bleeding money

Problem: Most subscription boxes lose 12% of customers every month
Agitate: At that rate, you'll need to replace your entire customer base every 8 months
Solve: Our retention sequence cut churn by 45% for Brand X

Result: 32% open rate, 2x their average engagement

Quick Tips for Using These Frameworks:

  1. Keep sentences short

  2. Use one framework per email

  3. Test different frameworks for different segments

  4. Always lead with your strongest point

  5. End with a clear, single call to action

The Secret Sauce:
The magic isn't in the framework itself - it's in the consistency. Pick one framework and use it for your next 5 emails before trying another.

What to Do Right Now:

  1. Pick your next promotional email

  2. Rewrite it using PAS framework

  3. Split test it against your usual style

  4. Track the results

Most brands overthink their copy. These frameworks work because they mirror how humans naturally process information and make decisions.

P.S. The best framework is the one you'll actually use. Start with PAS - it's nearly impossible to mess up.
